Terms of Service

Effective 2026-04-19

These terms govern your use of the text-to-speech service at shooshtts.com ("ShooshTTS", "the service", "we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. What the service is

ShooshTTS reads your Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok live chat aloud in your OBS Browser Source overlay. It includes a Voice Hold feature (ducking TTS when you speak), per-viewer voices, pronunciation rules, message filtering, moderation tools, and viewer sound / chat effects. We operate the backend, synthesize speech via Google Cloud Text-to-Speech, and deliver audio to your browser.

2. Accounts

  • You create an account by authenticating with Twitch, YouTube, or TikTok OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your platform credentials secure.
  • One account per person. Sharing your account to extend caps or avoid charges is a violation of these terms.
  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age for your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the service.

3. Subscription + billing

  • A 7-day free trial starts when you sign up. No card required for the trial.
  • After the trial, continued service requires an active subscription purchased through LemonSqueezy. Price and plan details are on the pricing page and are always quoted in USD.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically on the same billing cycle until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the dashboard billing panel or LemonSqueezy's customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Credit top-ups (optional one-time purchases) add characters to your balance. Credits never expire; they extend your monthly character cap.
  • Refunds are handled case-by-case through LemonSqueezy. If you think you've been charged in error, reach out via the support form and we'll work with LemonSqueezy to resolve it. Where a refund is issued, any associated credit-pack characters are reversed atomically (you can't keep the credits and the refund).
  • We may change pricing with 30 days' notice for existing subscribers — email for paid users and a dashboard banner for everyone. The change applies on your next renewal after the notice period; you can cancel before then without penalty.

4. Usage caps

  • Every subscription includes a 500,000-character monthly cap and a 100,000-character daily cap (raid safety valve). When you hit the cap, TTS synthesis pauses until the next window or until you purchase credit top-ups. Chat and overlay continue to function normally.
  • Caps are per account. Systematic attempts to bypass caps (multi-accounting, scripted cap probing, etc.) are grounds for suspension.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to harass, threaten, dox, or incite violence against any person or group.
  • Use the service to broadcast content that violates the rules of your connected streaming platforms (Twitch, YouTube, TikTok). If they ban your channel for content we read aloud, we may suspend our service too.
  • Bypass, probe, or overload our systems — rate-limit evasion, DoS attempts, scraping beyond the service's intended use, reverse-engineering to defeat access controls.
  • Upload custom sound files you don't have the right to use (copyright, trademark, personality rights).
  • Impersonate another person or falsely claim affiliation with ShooshTTS.
  • Use the service in ways that are illegal under applicable law (your jurisdiction, ours in Virginia, USA, or the laws of the platforms you connect).

ShooshTTS has a profanity filter that blocks slurs and serious-risk content by default. You can disable the filter in your settings; doing so does not transfer our obligations under platform rules or applicable law to us.

6. Your content

You retain all rights to content you create or upload (settings, custom sounds, pronunciation rules, support ticket text). You grant us a limited license to process that content as needed to operate the service — synthesize TTS, play sound effects, apply your filters and rules, and debug issues you report.

Chat messages from your viewers pass through our system in real time but are not stored by us (see the privacy policy). You are responsible for complying with your streaming platforms' rules for viewer-generated content.

7. Suspension + termination

We can suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, platform-level bans that affect our integration, non-payment, or compromise indicators (credential theft, chargeback fraud). Where possible we'll notify you first; in urgent cases (active abuse, legal demand) we may act immediately and notify after.

You can close your account at any time via the support form. Account closure stops billing on the next cycle; data retention follows the privacy policy.

8. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee any specific SLA. The service depends on third parties (Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Google TTS, LemonSqueezy, Hetzner, Cloudflare) and their outages may affect yours. Planned maintenance will be announced through the dashboard when possible.

9. Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every browser, streaming setup, or platform change.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the service is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — lost profits, lost viewers, lost sponsorship, damage to your streaming reputation, or similar — even if we've been warned they're possible. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits; where that applies, the limits apply to the fullest extent allowed.

11. Governing law + disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute you can't resolve with us informally must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

If you're a consumer in the EU, UK, or any other jurisdiction that grants you mandatory consumer-protection rights, this section doesn't limit those rights.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes (anything that affects your billing, your rights, or acceptable use) will be announced in the dashboard before they take effect. Minor changes (clarifications, fixing typos) update the effective date silently. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

13. Miscellaneous

  • If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a term isn't a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • You can't transfer your account or these terms without our written consent. We can transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of the service.
